Clogger ladies

A couple of months ago, I had my first experience playing banjo music for cloggers, and it was an ear-opening revelation. So, I don’t hold anything against the writer of the following song, which I found on a tape by Tunesmith, which features Harry Bolick and friends.

CLOGGER LADIES

You’ve heard about them cloggers,
well, I’m one of them it’s true.
If I were to place a railroad iron
in the bottom of my shoe,
I’d wear big goddam hiking boots
to drown out any band.
People all say I’m the biggest clogger
as I stumble through the land.
Little old clogger ladies?
flat feet and blood shot eyes.
Just as loud as a railroad train as they go shufflin’ by.
Deaf because they’re born that way
and they cannot hear the beat.
And they stomps their feet
says play faster
when you meet them on the street.
Little old clogger ladies?
flat feet and blood shot eyes.
